Russ’s Interview On Everyday Struggle

Earlier this month, Russ sat down with the hosts of COMPLEX News’s Everyday Struggle for an interview. As usual, the arguments became heated.

In my opinion, interviews show peoples’ true colors. Rappers are artists and artists often have eccentric personalities… Vincent van Gogh cut off his ear and Flavor Flav wears a wall clock around his neck. Russ is a talented musician but I’m interested to see how the public reacts to his unorthodox behavior.

Like Kanye West, Russ is painfully honest about what goes through his head and has no qualms with voicing his opinions freely. Everyday Struggle co-host, Nadeska, clearly begins to lose her cool during the conversation. Usually, she’s the levelheaded one on the show.

B.o.B Starts a GoFundMe Campaign To Prove His Flat Earth Theory

Regardless of what scientists agree upon, B.o.B needs some proof. This week, he started a GoFundMe page to fund his scientific studies attempting to prove that the earth is actually flat.

“I’m starting this GoFundMe because I would like to send one, if not multiple satellites as far into space as I can, or into orbit as I can, to find the curve,” he said. “I’m looking for the curve.”

Originally set at $500,000, B.O.B quickly changed the goal to $200,000. As of 11 AM Sunday morning, the page has raised $195.

What do you think? Has Bobby Ray gone crazy or is he really onto something?

Another Upcoming Michael Jackson Release?

If you thought you were done hearing posthumous releases from the king of pop, you’d be wrong. September 29th, Scream, will be released to the masses.

The Halloween-style 13-song collection of MJ hits will also feature a brand-new five-song mash-up by The White Panda… As a life-long fan of Michael, this upsets me.

First of all, it’s a blatant attempt to squeeze every last penny out of the artist’s name. Second of all, the fact that the selling point of the album is a White Panda mash-up is insulting. If Michael Jackson wanted to work with White Panda, he would have. White Panda is unworthy of such an honor, to be frank.

It is time to let him rest in peace and stop diluting value of Michael Jackson’s legacy.

Gucci Mane’s Upcoming Autobiography

Apparently, Gucci Mane has written a book… I never thought I’d here myself say that sentence.

The Atlanta Trapstar’s upcoming album, Mr. Davis, is set to arrive on September 15th. Only a few days later, Gucci’s going to drop a truth bomb on the literary world with his first book. Scholars, bookworms, and hip hop heads alike can dive into the story of Radric Davis’s life when The Autobiography of Gucci Mane (clever title) hits retailers on September 19th.

Meet Dreamville’s Newest Signees

EarthGang is an Atlanta rap duo consisting of Doctur Dot and Johnny Venus. Thursday, news surfaced of Earthgang becoming the newest addition to J. Cole’s Dreamville Records.

To supplement this announcement, EarthGang released their newest project, Rags. The five-song EP is the first of three, leading up to an album called Mirrorland.

In an interview with P&P, EarthGang shared:

“It’s a part of this three-part EP series. Rags, Robots, and Royalty. All these things are the train stops to Mirrorland, which is our album coming out whenever the f*** we put it out,” they said. “It represents being from the bottom. Shout out to everybody who came from the bottom and came from the lowest. At the bottom, there’s nothing but pure potential. Zero is pure potential.”

I love this concept.

Russ’ Album Goes Gold

“There’s Really A Wolf” has officially earned gold status. The album was released at the beginning of May with all of the writing, recording, and editing done singlehandedly by the Atlanta emcee himself. Many people have criticized Russ for his arrogance but the truth is that he wouldn’t be where he is today without loving himself so much.

Everything We Know About Cyhi’s Album (So Far)

Fans of Cyhi the Prynce have been long awaiting a debut studio album.

After signing to Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music label in 2010, everyone was anticipating Cyhi’s moment to shine. Six years and two album-quality mixtapes later, the debut was still a no-show. In August 2015, he was released from his contract with Def Jam and made his way to Sony.

Cyhi’s indicated that he and Kanye (as well as other G.O.O.D. Music artists) are still on good terms. A few months ago, Prynce announced that his debut album, No Dope On Sundays, was finally finished. He’s assured that the project will arrive “very soon” although the actual release date is still unknown to the public.

Here is what we do know about No Dope On Sundays so far:

Cyhi’s still a part of G.O.O.D. Music

Although Def Jam handles distribution, Kanye originally founded G.O.O.D. Music in conjunction with Sony BMG. It appears that Cyhi’s move from Def Jam to Sony didn’t affect his position with G.O.O.D. Music. The upcoming project will be executive produced by Kanye West and is slated to feature ScHoolboy Q, Travi$ Scott, Pusha T, and more.

2 Chainz will be featured

Prynce posted a video of himself previewing a track including the album name and tagging Chainz in the description. I’d say it’s safe to assume the track is part of the album.

There’s one single already

So far, the only full track to be released is “Movin’ Around” (feat. ScHoolboy Q). Although the use of autotune is out of character for Cyhi the Prynce, I think he uses it decently. Based on the previews we’ve seen, not all of the songs will have autotuned vocals. Personally, I prefer Cyhi’s normal sound. That being said, it’s still a good song.

The album should be sick

This one is just my opinion but check out this video posted of him previewing an unknown track and tell me it doesn’t sound amazing.
