Next Big New York Rap Duo

20-year-old E-Class and his 12-year-old brother, Young Poppa, have grown a strong social media presence rapping as The Hoodies. The two young rappers went viral with a video of them freestyling in a car, racking up over 3 million views within a month.

The Hoodies. “[The name] stems from the stereotype of young minorities in hoodies or kids from a certain area in the world that are viewed as some type of suspicious individual,” E-Class explains. “I feel like our clothes, environment, or things that we had to live through shouldn’t be the cause of our demise or the reason we are harassed or judged. We call ourselves The Hoodies for people like Trayvon Martin who couldn’t live to his 21st birthday.”

Last month, it was announced that the duo signed a deal with 50 Cent, rumored to be worth well over a few million dollars, which officially adds them to the G Unit roster.

I’m excited to see where rap takes these two. Their chemistry is great, their flow and timing has fantastic give-and-take, and they’re insanely marketable… Two young brothers who can rap like a couple of old-school legends? I could sell that idea.

Jon Connor’s Debut Album Update

Dr. Dre’s newest protégé, Jon Connor, has been hard at work preparing his debut album. Vehicle City doesn’t have a release date yet, however, Connor tweeted a picture of the final product. Now we know that the project’s completely finished and mastered.

I hope it comes early in 2018 because I’d love to hear it!

Bad, Bhad Bhabie

As 2017 is almost over, I look back at this past year and can’t help but wonder… How is Bhad Bhabie famous?

The Rap genre’s had some truly untalented people garner attention over the years but, honestly, I can’t think of anybody who’s worse than Bhad Bhabie a.k.a Danielle Bregoli a.k.a Cash Me Ousside girl.

She’s a 14-year-old girl who became famous after her appearance on Dr. Phil… Bregoli’s mother was out of answers regarding what to do about her out-of-control daughter, so, naturally, she turned to a television show for help. Society allowed this happen. Danielle grew up seeing people like ‘New York’ from Flava of Love get famous and thought “maybe I could do that.”

Then, I found out that Danielle Bregoli signed a record deal… That’s when I lost my faith in humanity. I’m partially outraged but the other part of me feels sorry for this girl. She’s so damn stupid that she thinks her actions are consequence-free and it doesn’t matter how she behaves or what she says. She shouldn’t be allowed to leave the house dressed like that as a 14-year-old.

For now, it seems that all we can do is sit back and watch as America does to Bhad Bhabie exactly what it did to Honey BooBoo… I just hope someone teaches Danielle how to spell correctly.

Eminem: New Single & Tracklist

As December 15th draws near, fans are becoming increasingly excited about the upcoming Eminem project, Revival.

After Em’s notorious performance at the BET Hip-Hop Awards and the release of his new single,”Walk On Water”, nobody really knows what to expect from the lyrical miracle. Today, the album became available for pre-order which means we now have the tracklist. The LP will contain 19 songs in total and feature guest appearances from Phresher, Ed Sheeran, Pink, Skylar Grey, Kehlani, Alicia Keys, X Ambassadors, and Beyonce (as heard in “Walk On Water).

Eminem also released a new single off the album today, titled “Untouchable”. Much like his BET Awards performance, this track is overflowing with social commentary and political statements. Judging by the American flag on the album cover, that will probably be a recurring theme in Revival.

Check out “Untouchable” below and, if you haven’t already seen it, watch the video from the recent BET Hip-Hop Awards.
